Cogges is a beautiful wedding venue with over 1000 years of history. With our impressive Manor House and extensive grounds, including a walled garden, there are countless backdrops for wonderful photos. A filming location for Downton Abbey, Arthur & George, and Colette among others, click on our virtual tour for a taste of what you and guests can enjoy. Our two stunning 18th century barns provide a wonderful setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions, and other celebrations, the perfect blank canvas on which to create your own unique and special day. There's a lovely laid-back and friendly atmosphere at Cogges and you'll feel like you're stepping into history, whilst making lovely new memories of your own.
Your wedding hire includes adjoining Wheat & Barley barns, both of which have a civil marriage license so you can hold your wedding ceremony in either. The walled courtyard with grassed area and covered canopy immediately outside are for your sole use.
After the ceremony, your reception and party can be held in one (or both) of the barns or spread outside onto the lawn. You may start your celebration at a time to suit you; the terms of our premises license dictate that the music must cease at 11pm and everyone off site by midnight.
Wheat Barn – the more spacious of the two barns and can seat up to 200 guests (banqueting style) or approx. 130 on round tables. Alternatively, a ceremony could be held with seating for 250+.
Barley Barn – the smaller, adjacent barn can seat up to 140 guests for a ceremony, and could be an ideal dance floor, bar or even quiet space for young children. It's also another option for your wedding breakfast.

More than just a barn, we also offer lots of outdoor space where you and your guests can roam. Enjoy canapes and croquet on the lawn, a barbecue or hog roast, a fire pit, food vans, music and games, along with beautiful rural backdrops for stunning photographs around the grounds. And, after 5pm the rest of the site is exclusively yours to enjoy too.

There is free parking near Cogges in our dedicated car park, and disabled parking available on site. Cogges is located in Witney and just a convenient short walk to the town centre, where there is also lots of free parking and several bus routes.
We may be rustic but we thankfully have toilets, lighting, heating and lots of electrical sockets. There is also a disabled toilet with baby changing facilities.
