Two Trustees required - Treasurer and HR Trustee

Charisma Charity Recruitment are working in partnership with Cogges Heritage Trust, the charity which cares for and runs Cogges Manor Farm, to appoint two new Trustees to its well-established Board of Trustees, some of whom will be retiring during the next 12 months.

The charity’s purpose is to preserve, protect, develop and improve the archaeological, historical, architectural and environmental heritage of the site of Cogges Manor Farm and associated land for the benefit of the people of the County of Oxfordshire and the wider members of the public.

The Board of Trustees provide collective governance leadership of the organisation in support of its charitable objects. Trustees play a key role in setting the strategic direction of the organisation and overall policy, defining goals, establishing targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets.

Cogges Heritage Trust is specifically seeking to appoint a Treasurer and an HR Trustee and are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are eager to be part of the next exciting phase of Cogges’ development. New Trustees joining the Board will need to share their passion for making the Farm relevant and rewarding to a wide range of audiences, and be willing to challenge and bring fresh thinking, new ideas and entrepreneurial qualities to enable Cogges to get better and better.

The new Trustees should:

  • Be a qualified Accountant, ideally with knowledge of charity SORP and charity governance who will lead the Finance & Audit committee and be responsible for the overall financial direction of the charity
  • Be a Human Resources professional who brings the expertise to be able to chair the People & Legal Committee when the current incumbent steps down in 2022.

The Trustees should be able to commit themselves to six Board and a minimum of six sub-Committee meetings per annum.  Board members will serve on a voluntary basis (although reasonable expenses will be paid if required).
