Marquess of Winchester’s Regiment Re-enactment

The year is 1643 and the King needs to raise funds and to recruit soldiers for his army. An Officer and soldiers from Marquess of Winchesters Regiment have been sent to West Oxfordshire to ask wealthy land owners to support the Kings cause and to recruit soldiers. They will visit Cogges Farm on 4th August for this purpose. Soldiers from the Regiment will be based around the farm to talk to visitors and demonstrate their weapons - they will be on display between 11am and 3pm each day!

Cogges is steeped in 1000 years of history and we're delighted to welcome the Marquess of Winchester’s Regiment, considered one of the premier formations in English Civil War re-enactment. Look out for living history displays and re-enactments around the farm!
