Directors Update - January 2015

January 2015
The period between Christmas and the new season opening in March is always a strange time. We certainly miss the comings and goings of our visitors. This year we have at least been able to see some of you with the café staying open Wednesday to Sunday.  But we are very much looking forward to the doors of the farmyard opening wide.
However it certainly isn’t quiet or uneventful at the moment. It seems like every deadline we have is between January and March and we are working very hard to bring everything together – hopefully for opening day on the 21st March. A new twist on our adventure play area is taking shape; a kitchen area next to the house has just been completed and I hope you will take the chance to buy some volunteer made produce in the new season or come to the Mother’s Day Tea; preparations are being made to secure fencing and improve housing for animals; the garden has been dug over and the soil enriched, ready to be planted up; essential maintenance around the site; and our Downton filming photos are being edited ready to show in the house. So much of this depends on the hard work and ingenuity of our volunteers, who mean that Cogges is a lively and delightful place, even on those cold winter days.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
