Freelance Learning Leaders

We’re looking to appoint a number of dedicated freelancers to add to our existing team of Learning Leaders.

  • Deadline to apply is 17th May 2021, 5pm
  • Hours: Variable and flexible.  This will be term-time only but days will depend on school bookings. There is also the possibility to support with holiday activities and events. 
  • Rate: £15 per hour

The primary role of the Freelance Learning Leaders is to deliver the formal learning programme onsite at Cogges Manor Farm.  You will be responsible for the safety, enjoyment and learning of school groups whilst onsite at Cogges Manor Farm, ensuring that they receive a high quality learning experience and that they are invited to provide feedback to benefit and develop further programming.

Key Result Areas:

  • Welcome school groups onto site, and help orientate them, e.g. by showing them toilets, where to leave bags, where to eat lunches.
  • Deliver specially designed education activities including baking, planting, making a shelter, building a fire etc.
  • Make links, where appropriate, to the National Curriculum.
  • Interpret the site and its history for school groups.
  • Take on the role of a historic character (this may involve dressing in replica costumes).
  • Support the development of new programmes and improve the knowledge of the history of the site through independent research.
  • Provide feedback and help to develop and improve programmes based on the experience of delivery.
  • Encourage teacher and pupil feedback on the programme.
