Go wild at Cogges with beautiful gardens to discover

Family visits

Cogges is a favourite with families for its beauty, farm animals and acres of space to explore. With a cafe on site, adventure playground, mini Cogges soft play and undercover sand pit, you'll want to come back again and again, whatever the weather. Why not consider investing in an annual season ticket, transferable between parents and grandparents, and visit whenever you want. Many of our event days are free to enter for season ticket holders, or offered at a discounted price, offering excellent value over 12 months. We also provide birthday party packages!

Such a lovely cafe and little park for the kids!! They put on fab events, and the farm is great for a day out.

Kids feeding the goats
Meet our animal residents
Cogges' farmyard and fields have some very friendly animals to meet, including miniature Shetland ponies, Cotswold sheep, Sandy and Black pigs, Pygmy goats, quail and free-range chickens, turkeys and Indian Runner ducks. At weekends and on bank holidays, we have 'meet the animal' sessions at 11am and 2pm to get up close and learn more about the rabbits and guinea pigs who also live on the farm.
Adventure playground at Cogges
Defend the Cogges Castle play fort
You can play for hours on the slides, giant swing and zip wire in the woods, with more adventure play by the meadows for older children. We also have a climb-on wooden tractor outside the cafe for little ones to enjoy.
Hand-on activities with the kids in the manor house
Get hands-on with history
Visit the 13th century manor house and imagine what family life would have been like. You can dress up in the parlour, and at weekends and on special event days, try your hand at learning new skills in the kitchen where Cogges volunteers will be happy to share their secret recipes and traditional crafts, passed on through generations.
Mini farmers on their tractors
Mini soft play and ride on tractors
Whatever the weather, our little visitors can jump around in the 'mini Cogges' soft play, located in the former stables. The sand pit is also under cover, and right next to our collection of ride-on tractors for young farmers-in-training! Picnic benches can be found both here and in the orchard.
Explore ancient woodland
Outdoor adventures in nature
Children can safely explore Cogges, with plenty of space to run wild, climb trees, build dens and discover nature. Take a welly walk through the meadow or around the wooded island and moat which was once the site of the medieval Cogges Castle.
What a delightful little find! The girls we amazed at the play area, thay had a great time. Dog friendly which is a bonus!
