Wildlife Discovery Walk

If you’re feeling stuck at home and fancy some fresh air, why not escape to Cogges for a couple of hours for a peaceful wander around the grounds as you learn to identify different wildlife - led by Katherine Holmes, an experienced local ecologist.

During the gentle, slow-paced walk, you will have the opportunity to open your eyes and ears to the wild birds and other wildlife species at Cogges, and Katherine will provide hints and tips along the way to help you learn to identify them.

Only 12 spots available so make sure you book early! Feel free to bring your own packed lunch to eat ‘on the go’, or alternatively lunch can be purchased at the café. The walk will be entirely outdoors, primarily on unsurfaced paths, so please wear appropriate shoes!

About the leader

Katherine Holmes is the founder of Rediscover Nature (www.rediscover-nature.com): a local business set up to support people of all ages to discover and engage with the wildlife on their doorstep. Katherine has worked as an ecologist and wildlife conservationist for the last 15 years, and is passionate about sharing her knowledge of the natural world, and helping people reconnect with nature. She has a particular interest in birds, and believes that some knowledge of birdsong can add an extra level of appreciation and enjoyment to spending time in nature, without the need to be weighed down by binoculars.
