Dry Stone Walling

Two course dates available: choose from 28th September or 30th October (6 places available on each)

If you're considering a change of career or just want to learn a new skill, dry stone walling could be for you. Here in the Wychwood Forest we practice Cotswold Drystone Walling using the local Oolitic limestone.

On this beginners' course you can expect to learn about:

  • stripping down a wall
  • grading and sorting stone
  • base stones
  • building stones
  • throughs and toppers.

Using local stone and local methods, you will gain experience with the tools and techniques necessary to build a drystone wall in the Cotswold style.

Please come with stout boots and suitable clothing.
